Need for Nutrition Education/Innovation Programme
The Need for Nutrition Education/Innovation Programme (NNEdPro: www.nnedpro.org.uk) is an independent global think-tank and collaborative group for knowledge generation, translation and evaluation, focusing primarily on Medical Nutrition Education and related research. The NNEdPro strategic partnership includes three lead organisations with which NNEdPro has formal affiliations: the British Dietetic Association (BDA), Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP) and Wolfson College Cambridge.
NNEdPro operates via a small core of individuals (including Sumantra ‘Shumone’ Ray [Chair] and Sarah Gibbings [Co-ordinator], who are based at MRC EWL) in Cambridge and other locations, but has a relatively large international impact footprint, particularly in Medical Nutrition Education. The role of the NNEdPro Chair has received significant recognition through a Wolfson College Governing Body Fellowship as well as Senior Clinical Tutorship at the University of Cambridge, an Adjunct Professorship at the University of Waterloo and Visiting Professorships at Imperial College London and Ulster University. NNEdPro recently won the 2015 Complete Nutrition Outstanding Achievement Award and was a Finalist/Runner-up in the 2016 BMJ Awards under the Education category. NNEdPro was also an invited contributor to the 2016 United Nations Summit on Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition.
